The adult laughing gull was at Ring, outside Clonakilty again this morning, showing well.



     

West Cork megas

An adult laughing gull at Ring this afternoon may well be the bird from Rosscarbery.  A female mandarin was at Timoleague this afternoon.

A 2nd winter glaucous gull & a 2nd winter iceland gull were at Kilkeran Lake this morning, with the latter seen again at Red Strand later.

A male goldeneye on Kilkeran Lake this morning was new for the patch year list (72), with a moorhen also there.

gulls aplenty

 


The adult winter laughing gull was still at Rosscarbery today, along with a 1st winter Iceland gull, an adult ring-billed gull and 4 mediterranean gulls.  The male green-winged teal was again at Kilkeran Lake, while the wintering whimbrel was in Dirk Bay, with 4 red-throated divers also there.

A quick look for the adult laughing gull at Owenahincha Beach this lunchtime but no sign.  The lesser yellowlegs was still at White's Marsh and a male merlin was seen hunting at Long Strand this afternoon.

pleasant valley sunday

 


The adult laughing gull was relocated on Owenahincha Beach this morning, with a summer plumage adult mediterranean gull also present.  The lesser yellowlegs was again at White's Marsh and the drake green-winged teal was seen again on Kilkeran Lake.  A long-tailed tit at Shite Lane cross-roads this afternoon was new for the patch year list (71).

The only birds of note today was the long-staying lesser yellowlegs at White's Marsh this afternoon, the adult ring-billed gull at Rosscarbery, and a mediterranean gull there.

The adult winter laughing gull was at Rosscarbery again this afternoon, still associating with roosting cormorants.

The adult winter laughing gull was still at Rosscarbery this afternoon, showing well out on the sand, and still associating with 4 cormorants.  An adult ring-billed gull was also present.  The forster's tern was seen again today at Ballycotton too.
