winter waders
Two knot at Kilkeran Lake this lunchtime were an unseasonal surprise (139), while an avocet at Clonakilty was a full-on tick for the emerald isle, (and a much-needed breakback on a certain cobh jackeen)! Two ring-billed gulls (1st & 2nd w) were also present there.

another goldeneye
Another female goldeneye graced Kilkeran Lake this lunchtime - just a shame that no other diving wildfowl will dare to show up as there's a lot I still need for the year! still time yet, tho....

glauc
Got a call about a 1st w glaucous gull at Red Strand at lunchtime, which just happened to be visible from the top of Dirk so its on the patch year list (138), my highest ever patch year total. Cheers for the call, dave! A chiffchaff was calling at the top of Dirk too. The 1st w iceland gull and an adult med gull were on Kilkeran Lake mid-morning.
boni's at Ross
Caught up with the cracking winter plumage adult bonaparte's gull at Rosscarbery this afternoon - very nice it was too! Hopefully, it'll find its way over to the lake before the end of the year!
